Key Findings

Administration of the HPβCD/BCP alleviated the cognitive dysfunction, improved the cerebral blood supply, suppressed neuronal apoptosis, and reduced the loss of nerve fibers in VD model rats. BCP possibly elicits its neuroprotective effects by activating the CB2 pathway. Therefore, the present results may be of considerable significance for targeted therapy and provide an innovative treatment strategy for vascular dementia.
