Key Findings

In summary, we found that EFC mitigated the features of aging induced by D-gal in rats and improved behavioral performance in Morris water maze. The antiaging effects of EFC include reducing oxidative stress, improving immune function, and inhibiting the activation of astrocytes as well as attenuating tau phosphorylation and suppressing PS1 expression. Therefore, our findings suggest that EFC would be useful for relieving age-related memory impairments.
